Jericho Yurt

Pricing

Jericho Yurt is priced for 2 people from £95 per night. All bed linen and towels supplied. You may bring your own pillows against possible Covid infection from previous guests if you want to.

There is also room for up to two children or one adult sleeping on single mattresses, and a camp bed provided in the yurt: The cost for extra people is £15 per person per night. All extra people will need to bring their own bedding (sleeping bags), towels, we supply pillows. There is enough space for a baby under 2 years in their own travel cot at no extra charge, but we do ask politely that you make provision to remove all nappies at the end of your stay. Owing to the abundance of sheep and lambs in the fields we are very sorry but we can NOT allow dogs, however well behaved.

Jericho Yurt is situated on a raised deck in open fields with fantastic views to the front, and the woodlands behind through a transparent window we’ve made in the back wall of the yurt. Delightful solar powered fairy lights grace the inside and out for a truly romantic setting.

We’ve styled Jericho on a different theme to Old Larch using the natural beauty of ‘stagged’ oak branches. It’ll sleep two very comfortably, with other beds available for extra bodies. A wood burning stove will keep you toasty, with free wood supplied, or for you to scavenge, (axe and chopping block supplied!). Close by is a converted trailer hut with a ‘separet’ long-drop loo, hot running water and shower with a window onto the beautiful surroundings.

There is a kitchen protected from the elements with everything you need, the water is delicious and filtered so perfectly safe to drink, so please don’t bring plastic water bottles. There is also a chiminea for barbecuing or sitting around whilst you gaze at the big starlit skies, listening to owls hooting and the badgers snuffling in the woods. Kids will love sliding down to the field and swinging in the hammock. We have also provided an Ooni pizza oven for you to enjoy.

We respectfully ask our guests to conserve water, and please bring less plastic where ever possible. Our water is delicious and filtered so please resist the urge to bring plastic water bottles 🙂

There is now an EV charging point at the house for the convenience of EV owners.

Useful information

SEASONAL AVAILABILITY

Jericho Yurt is available from April 1st - September 31st, then we take it down for cleaning re-proofing and general maintenance.

Anytime after 4pm (please send text message with ETA on the day to Richard's mobile - number supplied with booking confirmation).

CHECK OUT

Before 10am please. Richard will normally come and help you down with your stuff. Please let him know if you want to leave earlier.

CORONAVIRUS

We now supply pillows again but if guests wish to bring their own pillows as a precaution against infection from previous guests, your are very welcome to do so.

SAFETY

Very small children should be supervised at all times around the ponds, the chiminea and the wood burner, and on the Scary Swing

CONNECTIVITY

There is good EE mobile signal. If you need to check emails, you can park just outside the main house to access the Wi-Fi.

WHAT DO WE SUPPLY?

Bed linen and towels for the double, matches, firelighters, soap, washing up liquid, lanterns, enough charcoal for one meal. The delicious drinking water is filtered and safe to drink.

WHAT TO BRING?

Please read the information that we send to you on receipt of booking. Supplies such as food, drink, fire-lighters, tea lights, (we supply charcoal for one cook up), wellies or walking boots, slippers for inside and binoculars, a charging pack for your phone, if you own one. There is a cool box, the owners supply ice blocks and you can re-freeze your own, nearby.

COOKING

Gas-fired camping stove and grill. Barbecue on the chiminea Cool box provided with interchangeable ice blocks, plus an innovative evaporating clay cool pot! There is usually some tea and coffee, and basic cooking items in the cupboard.

DIRECTIONS

You can use your satnav to get you to the village of Llanfechain, thereafter please follow the directions on the booking information sheets.

My friend and I booked this stay for a reading retreat, and absolutely loved it. The Jericho Yurt had a beautiful interior, and lots of room for two. The fairy lights created a cosy, magical space, the views throughout were amazing, and the fire, both indoors and out, kept us warm whilst we read in the night. The location of the site itself is relatively off the beaten track, but by no means off road. It is situated just next to a sleepy little village with a good pub and a local, independent shop. The yurt and set up was fantastic. Very rustic with many of the facilities hand made by Richard, the owner, such as a beautiful live wood table and there was a wood burner in the yurt and a chimenea. Overall a lovely stay and certainly plan to visit again. Richard was a real pleasure to talk to. He seems to genuinely care about the premises and the guests. One thing we will remember is Tuppence the duck. A real character that marches towards you when he sees you, runs round your legs and pecks them in a friendly manner. He lives in the pond where the boat is, which, incidentally is well worth a go of (a number of buoyancy aids are provided).

What can I say about Bodhall?
Amazing!! We stayed in the Jericho yurt was beautiful we took our 7 year old for 2 nights and had the best time the woods and treasure hunt was brilliant we got wet and moody and had so much fun amazing place to make memories only a 5 min drive to beautiful village full of lovely people will 100% be re booking .
Richard and Flavia were fantastic hosts very friendly and helpful made the experience extra nice 🙂 can't wait to return soon definitely found out regularly get away now excited for all the new memories we will be making at Bodhall.

Jericho Yurt is a magical place.  The setting is incredibly beautiful and we had the most amazing sunrises each day as well as some lovely sunsets. Thanks again for a remarkable stay in the glorious Jericho yurt. Our second visit did not disappoint and having brought our daughter this time around, it was a very different kind of stay. We made use of the swing, the slide and the thoughtfully planned treasure hunt on site (and we brought a few treasures of our own to share) and a fantastic time was had by all. Even Tuppence the duck gave us a warm welcome back! We stayed for an extra day this time and it was still not long enough, so we will definitely be back again at some point. So much thought has gone into making the yurts comfortable and well equipped with a touch of luxury to boot! This was the most magical stay, and is very special to us as we got engaged under the wishing tree on the Bodynfoel estate. Thanks so much for looking after us and providing such a splendid setting! A 3 night weekend away in Jericho Yurt and the website really cannot do the setting or set up justice – helped by amazing weather for our trip. Very easy arrangements and great communication from Richard and Flavia before the booking and during our stay. We were actually doing a craft workshop for 2 days locally and using the yurt as accommodation and a base to explore from – its perfect for this with loads to see and do in the area. Really lovely set up with solar lighting, a hot shower, your own composting loo – very self contained and private in a beautiful setting. The Yurt and its facilities are great for a camping/not camping stay – very comfortable and we took advantage of the lovely walks on some evenings – and a river walk down to a local pub for food on one night. Really excellent all round, highly recommended and we will be back!

We had a fantastic 5 night stay in the Jericho Yurt, it was only a short walk away from the car, but far enough to have complete privacy. The set up there is fantastic as you have shelter to cook and dine if it rains and the toilet and shower is connected to the decking. There are open fields and green hills in every direction which gives you the feeling of ultimate freedom to explore. With many things to do as well as walking, including a treasure hunt for children which was great fun, we highly recommend to anyone wanting to connect to nature and escape from reality. Thank you Flavia and Richard for a wonderful stay! We absolutely loved staying in the Jericho Yurt and had the most great experience. The location of this yurt was fab, very picturesque and we loved watching the sheep and lambs go around their daily business in the fields around us. Our 2 young girls loved their stay and loved going on the scary swing and rowing boat on the pond, an added bonus was having a slide attached to the yurt.. it kept the girls entertained. The girls loved the treasure hunt, finding treasure in the iconic locations around the estate was a lovely touch and activity. A ribbon was also left in the yurt to attach to the very old wishing tree at the top of the meadow which again was a lovely idea. We had the pleasure of watching the rare sitings of the pied flycatcher nesting and feeding her young at the back of the yurt, so lovely to see nature at its finest. A great place to stay for those wanting to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, perfect for couples or families. We really enjoyed our stay at Bodynfoel, both in the Guest Rooms and the Jerico Yurt. It was also a pleasure meeting Flavia and Richard. They both made us feel very welcome and at home, we loved the informal atmosphere which contributes to the comfortable stay. Also respect for their efforts to minimise the environmental impacts of their business' activities. We had some car trouble on the way in and really saw the help Richard gave in arranging the mechanic as the extra mile, it saved our break-away and lifted the mood massively.

Easy to find - good directions. Met by owner who was pleasant & helpful. Yurt was lovely, just as we had imagined & in beautiful surroundings. Both children (7 and 10) loved it. Wonderful walks through bluebell woods and across open fields. Lake was lovely - took out with ten year old. Both children loved the slide, swing & wishing Tree. The weather was pretty dismal but we had bought plenty to do when we couldn’t get out. The owner came out to warn us about Storm Hannah & offered a room in the house if we thought it was too frightening with the children. It arrived at 3am & was a little scary, woke us all up, but we felt safe enough to stay & it added to the adventure. All in all a great place - a little pricey but worth it for having the freedom and space which is so rare these days. It was private but felt very safe. Children asked if they could come back every year - so I would say it was a success & would recommend to friends.

Our stay was just brilliant. Richard and Flavia are excellent hosts and the little extra touches, marshmallows, treasure hunt and nature walk ideas, board games, were just perfect. There was plenty to do within walking distance and it felt like we were the only ones there because the other accommodation is well spread out across their estate. The place was extremely clean and tidy considering it was a yurt in the middle of a field with an outdoor kitchen. The yurt was themed accordingly and had everything that we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. It had lovely memorable elements such as the wishing tree, rope swing, rowing boat and plenty of walks to do. We will definitely be recommending Bodynfoel Hall and will be returning again in the future.

We stayed at the Jericho Yurt for 2 nights and it was fantastic, so serene and peaceful watching the squirrels and the sheep. The views of the surrounding hills and fields are wonderful. The Yurt itself and the decking area are so well constructed and everything is there that you could need for a relaxing stay. We made tea on the chiminea and ate as the sun went down. My fiancée is 8 months pregnant and not once was she uncomfortable staying in the Yurt. We would definitely come back and stay again. 30/08/2018
