All extra people will need to bring their own bedding (sleeping bags), pillows and towels. Van Goff is perched next to it’s own spacious raised deck, situated in un-beatable solitude in the corner of woodland over looking glorious views with gorgeous sunsets.
With a bit of imagination, make do and mend, up-cycling old bits and pieces and a lot of love we’ve brought this old vintage 1970’s caravan back to life. Making use of many original features, and adding a wood burning stove, it’s now almost completely ‘off grid’ with solar powered LED lighting, gas cooker and hot running water with a shower and flushing loo. There’s even a small fridge … what luxury!
The real luxury bit is that after listening to our guests’ feedback we now have a small heater in the bedroom that keeps it toasty in the colder months, and even an occasional electric blanket in the bed (only in the colder months)! There is one charging point for devices should you need it, for peace of mind.
As the sun goes down, light up the hurricane lanterns, spark up the chiminea for a barbecue, and relax under the stars.
Van Goff is ideal for a romantic couple but will easily sleep an extra two on the sofa beds, so it is also enjoyed by families.
We encourage our guests to conserve water, use less plastic where possible and recycle as much as they can during their stay. The delicious spring fed drinking water is filtered so please resist the urge to bring plastic water bottles, thank you 🙂
Please do have a look at Old Larch Yurt, and Jericho Yurt if you want to experience something slightly different.
Van Goff is open from April 1st - January 2nd, then we have a chance to give it a good spruce up and carry out essential maintenance
Between 4pm-5pm (please send text message with ETA on the day to Richard's mobile - number supplied with booking confirmation)
We would be grateful if you could check out of the van before 10am, as we have to get on with the cleaning, but you are welcome to enjoy a walk before you set off home.
IN THE INTERESTS OF TRYING TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE WE ARE ASKING GUESTS TO BRING THEIR OWN PILLOWS, AND TO STRIP THE BED AFTER THEIR STAY. HAND SANITIZER IS SUPPLIED TO BE USED REGULARLY THROUGHOUT YOUR STAY - THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE :-)
Very small children should be supervised at all times around the ponds, wood-burners, chiminea, and the Scary swing. We simply ask that you take care around the estate, sometime the deck can get slippery but we do power wash it regularly throughout the season.
There is good EE mobile signal. If you need to check emails, you can go just outside the front of the Hall to access free Wi-Fi
